FX Networks' series 30 Days features an episode in which a white practicing Christian man from West Virginia with a belief that Islam may be a violent religion is thrown into the Muslim world for a period of 30 days. He must adopt the full set of Islamic traditions and attempt to fit in with his host family and host society.
The episode highlights some very interesting issues that relate to Islam's tough mix with American society. A local mosque broadcasts its "Call to Prayer" over loudspeakers five times a day on a busy city street. Non muslim locals wish to see the broadcasts banned while muslims consider the call to prayer to be the equivalent of Christian church bells and are fighting for their rights.
The series is created by filmmaker Morgan Spurlock (1, 2), famous for his 2004 documentary Super Size Me which chronicled his month long McDonald's only diet and was the third highest grossing box-office documentary of all time.
This is a really commendable feat. I would like to congratulate the Producers of the show to come up with this idea. And as many of you have seen, just open up and 'learn' the truth about Islam. We are a society and we have to work together. We have to understand and accomodate each other.

This is an awesome video, David really has a lot of courage for stepping up to such a different climate and embracing it, even for 30 days. Makes you look at things in a very different way.

The problem with Islam, is that it is a Static religion. Religion needs to transform with time and society, education and technology. Islam unfortunately is stuck in a phase. The austerity is rather foolish, considering that ALL RELIGIONS ARE MAN MADE. The Koran and the Bible are MAN MADE ALLEGORICAL STORIES, WITH MORAL IMPLICATIONS AND ETHICS. Hinduism is a great philosopy, it embraces the Universe and has no ONE MALE GOD AS ITS "SUPREME BEING", Rather Bhrama, which has no form and all forms, its omnipresent and is Universal. Buddhism is a great philosopy. Even Christianity has progressed with science and society to be more tolerant, even though there are many chrisitans who blindly believe in the Bible. Islam, unfortunately, with its 5 time pray schedule, ourtrage over CARTOONS, male dominated oppressive culture has not progressed at all. Of course not all muslims are oppressive or ignorant, but overall the muslim community is tripping. Same goes for some Christians who take the Bible literally and some Hindus who are too engrossed in caste system.
Humans need to look around and embrace a "new" religion, a new faith, which is universal, which is not antique 5000 years old and man made in a male dominated society, where fear and superstition was a party of daily life. Earth has changed, about time the Humans realize that.

well hindus are not that prefect either...the women or wifies have to be salve of the men or husbands...little girls are buried alive or killed because they are girls rather than being boys....most hindus cry if they have a daughter...men have every right to do anything but women doesnt...jews, muslims, and christians seem to be on the right track rather than hindus n budda .....because we all worship one God only! we dont have 7 billion gods everywhere in the world....so what i said makes more sense....Hindus within themselves have castes systems which puts down others hindus....isnt that funny...no unity unlike us.....

"jews, muslims, and christians seem to be on the right track rather than hindus n budda .....because we all worship one God only! we dont have 7 billion gods everywhere in the world...."
First, get your facts straight Marco, you moron. Hinduism doesn't claim that there are 7 billion Gods but many nuances of one God. Secondly, what do you mean by "on the right track"? You must be an f-ing brainwashed twat if you're going to resort to this "We're better than you" mentality. Funny that's what religions like the ones you mentioned seem to do when they insist on conversions and violence against non-believers rather than live peacefully in their own ideologies and in harmony with others. Without such forced religions I think the world would be less a shamble and more in tune with true spirituality.
